The EU and IAEA Get Results in Iran!

Iran starts atom tests in defiance of EU deal
Iran has broken the seals on nuclear equipment monitored by United Nations inspectors and is once again building and testing machines that could make fissile material for nuclear weapons. Teheran's move, revealed to The Daily Telegraph yesterday by western sources, breaks a deal with European countries under which Iran suspended "all uranium enrichment activity".
...
America believes that a succession of reports by IAEA inspectors "revealing that Iran [has lied] systematically for 18 years and has yet to answer many troubling questions about its activities" provide ample evidence that Teheran has violated the treaty.
...
Inspectors have found that Iran made small quantities of weapons-grade uranium and plutonium.
The EU and IAEA are being played by Iran, just like Clinton got played by North Korea. You'd think they'd figure it out eventually, no? I'm sure Iran's mullahs can be trusted with nuclear weapons, though.. I mean, it's not like they openly support terrorist groups. Oh.. wait.

Green Nukes

EPA Approved ICBMs

In order to comply with EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) regulations, and at a cost of about $5.2 million per ICBM, the rocket motors on 500 Minuteman III missiles will be replaced with new ones. These rockets will emit less toxic chemicals when used. But the new, environmentally correct rockets will be heavier than the old ones, and will thus have a shorter range than the original motors. The actual range of the Minuteman III has been classified, but is thought to be nearly 10,000 kilometers, based on where the missiles are stationed and where the original Russian targets were. Thus, if the Minuteman III ICBMs have to be used in some future nuclear war, their rocket motors will not pollute the atmosphere. EPA regulations do not apply in foreign countries, so no changes are being made to reduce the harmful environmental effects of the nuclear warheads.

I'm not going to profane the perfect beauty of this link by trying to crack wise.

North Korea, Land Without Net

Andy Kershaw in North Korea

Sit back and enjoy the first ever radio programme recorded in this isolated and extraordinary country. Andy has described this as the "last great adventure on planet Earth". Even with all the restrictions and supervision, Radio 3 managed to record the music of local musicians. Other highlights include sea shanties from the East coast, a visit to the statue of the great leader and a very brief excursion into South Korea.

Interesting BBC radio series on the music of North Korea. One of the most interesting bits was the revelation that North Koreans actually believe the Americans are still killing their South Korean brothers. North Korea is cult-as-nation. Scary.

Not My Warez!

U.K. Teen Has His Warez Deleted By Feds

Joseph James McElroy, 18, of Woodford Green in London, had been found guilty of unauthorized modification of computer data and of impairing the performance of a computer under section three of the 1990 Computer Misuse Act at Bow Street Magistrates in December.
...
McElroy accessed 17 computers at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in Chicago in June 2002, which contained both classified and nonclassified data on atomic weapons and research. But he had only used spare storage space on the labs' computers and broadband access to upload pirated movies, software and games for him and his friends to use. He had also password-protected this space.
...
The court ordered that all the pirated software, movies and games found on McElroy's computers be destroyed.
Won't somebody think of the warez?

Again, props to A.
