Terrorists Attack Ronald Reagan

Moe Rex put out a call for MP3 bloggers to post Reagan-related material to commemorate National Reagan Rememberance Week.

Terrorist Attack by Popular Front off the 1986 12" Single Terrorist Attack.

I have no information whatsoever about this record. That said, it is as relevant today as it was when these crazy freaks recorded it in 1986.

Check out the rocking Ronnie samples and the slammin' automatic weapons breakdown. Thrill at Ronald's relentless dissing of Moamar Khadaffi! Marvel at the 80s disco-rap about how terrorists are "animals" and should be opposed by "civilized" people! (somehow oddly prescient when viewed in light of 9/11...)

Rest in peace, Ronald Reagan.

You'll only be Rocking Ronnie in 80s Art-of-Noise knock-offs now.

(The extended entry contains label details if anyone cares. )

Well, that's an interesting little rarity. Sounds like something David Frum and Richard Perle would've written, if they'd been in a disco-rap band back in '86. And I suppose the band is named after The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine? There's a weird mixed message for you....

Yeah, it's oddly neo-conservative, especially when you consider it came out in 1986. Apparently those guys just had far vision!

I also wondered if they were named after the PFLP.. Perhaps they were named after the Judean People's Front! ;)
